I don't have a great knowledge on this period of weapons, although I could if I wasn't lazy look it up..I don't have 3DS installed right now so I can't check poly but if I remember correctly is was a fair way under 4k.
Will post more details when I decide to fire it up again

Haven't really considered it in all honesty. UVW Mapping is one of my weakest areas, I get bored far too quickly, I can start a UVW Map and never finish it lol.
I have, maybe 12 UVW Maps in progress and I doubt I will ever finish them unless I get the sudden urge to

Looks fantastic! Any plans on how you might texture it? I personally am a big fan of fancy shiny old weaponry. You know, like the sorta thing 'the queens guard' or something odd like that might carry around. Lots of polish on the wood and metal!
