Description Of all the children of FinwΓ« he is justly the most renowned: for his valour was as a fire and yet steadfast as the hills of stone; wise he was and skilled in voice and hand; troth and justice he loved and bore good will to all, both Elves and Men, hating Morgoth only; he sought not his own, neither power nor glory, and death was his reward.
--J.R.R. Tolkien, History of Middle-earth V: 'The Lost Road and Other Writings'.

Fingon on his way through Angband, to save his boyfriend half-cousin. I Fingon, I really do; he's awesome.

Poor Fingon, e didn't deserve to die. I prefer him as Gil-Galad's father rather than Orodreth. He's much more awesome!!!

Aww, I love Fingon. He has a special place in my heart. That quote just...*sniffle*

Lol, there's so much Maedhros/Fingon slash we see these days that it's pretty much almost canon. Actually, all of my friendship fics look like slash...oh well!

FINGON! You awesome Elf you!

By the way, I should probably mention that he looks awesome. His eyes look kind of...multi-colored. COOL. And he's right-handed, isn't he? o_O Should the sword be on the other side? But besides that, sooo pretty. *pets him*

A lovely piece, and YAY for Fingon (who I oh so much). Really though, I think my favourite thing about this piece is the gold circle cloak pin. :3

You go Fingon! And why did you cross out boyfriend? Didn't you know Maedhors/Fingon was practically cannon LOL But seriously screw Luthian/Beren they have nothing on Fingon/Maedhros's love story. So tragic and breathtakingly beautiful *sighs*

Stunning work I love the coloring, and the look of absolute determination on Fingon's face.

Yeah, great job! Love this piece. ^^ His eyes are amazing!

I'm planning to buy couple of those "History of Middle-Earths", but they are pretty expensive since they haven't been translated into Finnish. Could you tell which ones - one or two - I should buy? :"D Strange question, oh yes. Especially I'm interested in Feanor, his sons, Fingolfin's and Finarfin's kids, etc. Do you have any advice of which ones I should buy first?

Thank you!

And you can get the first five volumes, at least, as a boxed set, which ought to push the price down some, and those are always a good start (one of them is where I got the quote, and there's a lot about how their characters - and the Silmarillion as a whole - evolved in those). Aside from that, I'd also recommend volume 12, 'The Peoples of Middle-earth', purely for The Shibboleth of FΓ«anor; it's part grammatical discussion, and part an exploration of FΓ«anor's motivations and his relationships with various other characters; plus, of course, about the fullest list of what everyone's many names are and what they mean. It's pretty handy to have.

(now if you ever find yourself interested in the bad guys, volume 10, 'morgoth's ring' is choice. it's my favourite, so i just had to put that in there. )

Also, 'sup, fellow Scandinavian!

Oh yeah, I did a little research and found that there's three "boxes", one which contains books I-V, other where's VI-IX and third one X-XII. Thanks for advice, I'll probably buy the first one first. Difference in price in several mailorders was pretty big, in one place it was 90+€, and in other around 50€! But I'm not complaining, I'll buy the cheapest one.

Haha! It was snowing here yesterday, and in ~7 hours we got almost 30cm snow in places. It was brilliant, everything was wintry white! It wasn't permanent, though, and now it has almost melted. Climate change or something was doing it, because it's not normal to have snow in early October, not even here! I live in "southern" Lapland, and last time we had a permanent snow here in October was in seventies (according to my Dad). Is the winter coming there, in a place a little southern than mine?
