I don't know what that puppy went through (if it's a stray I feel sorry for it), but I can understand Mav's "eww" reaction. I would have (carefully) taken that brown puppy to the vet (to get a bath to get rid of the bugs), it could be infected with something after being exposed to all those bugs.
