Character concept: An anti-hero character who has the power of bringing images to life, whether it's through the tattoos on his skin or the designs on his clothing, he tranforms line and color into living graffiti. From calling forth a tidal wave, to creatures aiding him in battle, to elaborate camoflague, the possibilities are only limited by his imagination.

I began this early in the contest, before some of the later contest details were revealed, so I approached it trying to incorporate all the elements, character, background, and creature into a single illustration of the character concept.

I wanted to blend an urban atmosphere with a traditional element.
