I thought I'd do a little screencap study to get myself back into the swing of digital painting! The main point of this was to try and use hard and soft brushes together to create a more 3d look to the characters, and I think I improved on that aspect, even if the reference points compared to the original image aren't exactly accurate.Original image link: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments…

ooo, good job followiing the shading on moomin~ looks just like it--! I do like how much more acidic, with more values.. bright ur colours are~ warm??
gj on snufkin's hands too, they look really detailed.. i think his face in the ref is turned a bit more to the left side tho and the reeds below look a bit off to me but idk if u wanted to copy the ref perfectly or change it up or something so-- moomin looks really 3d tho-- i saw him first and thought it was a screencap or something xDD

Thanks! I wasn't going for an exact copy of the original; just the feel of it, since I didn't go with any lines. I think I could've put a bit more work in the reeds, just to make them look like, yanno, reeds, but that could be a goal for another study in the future.
