Yeah, I was VERY Skeptical about this place when my friend told me where he was going to have the wedding, but as it turns out it was VERY nice.

I know what you mean but people are their own worst critics so you often think something isn't as good as it is or you're so attached to the subject in your work that you can't view it objectively and you think it's better than it really is. That's why it's so important to listen to other peoples opinions.
A good example is that I can't imagine your friend being able to view this image objectively because of all the associations he has with the place and the building; whereas I only see the image and it is all I can judge (that's not totally true, I could be influence by a particularly interesting comment, even if I don't think I am).
Anyway bottom line is if we all like it, it must have something going for it
