Description
A follow-up to the Sundowner piece I made earlier: www.deviantart.com/nazokg/art/… I decided to make this into a series featuring MGR characters rendered in this limited colour palette, so up next was Sam!
In the Sundowner piece, the red was used to symbolise Red Sun, his theme song, and bloodlust.
The red here is used in the blood splatter, which represents Sam's humanity since he has barely any cybernetic enhancements, as well as "bloodshed" in Sam's theme song.
Sam is quite an interesting character in the story, and my fascination only ever grows around this character.
He constantly jeers Raiden and keeps nudging him about the morality of his actions, Sam's cocky attitude being at the forefront of his every appearance. But when they finally face off against each other, his song doesn't describe a steeled confidence, but the will of a broken man.
Should MGR ever get a sequel, I firmly believe it would be a good idea to give Sam his own game, and explore his past about his father and taking down the drug cartels. But alas...
