You can also read a guest post by me on Peter's blog on the making of this image: www.petervbrett.com/2010/05/16… We had to keep it under wraps a bit because it's a spoiler for the end of the Desert Spear, which was only released last month. Peter wanted to give his readers a chance to finish the book before we revealed the image. Still, for the sake of people who haven't read the books I'll keep the character unnamed.
The demons are wood demons.I stepped out of my comfort zone for this quite a bit--it's much more complex and action-based than anything I'd done previously. Ridiculously happy with the outcome.

Art work is amazing but the character in question was supposed to be beautiful even with the short hair, don't get me wrong I would never be able to do anything close to this by a very long way but she looks less feral and more ugly, the demons on the other hand are some of the best i have seen drawn on comish or fanart they are not wat I had in my head when reading but they will be now.

One of the most amazing things I've ever seen on Deviantart. Beautiful execution and fantastic amounts of detail. You will always continue to amaze me.
The thing that gets me the most is her tattoos. The detail is STUNNING. It's so eye-catching yet you make it work in her body language and flow so perfectly.
And I must say I found the backdrop to be a continuing source of awe in looking at this piece.
