Hi all! Something thats not sketchy for a change! I guess this is my first official digital painting of 2013! Looking back I think I've certainly improved a bit! Being able to take an ordinary image and put my own style into it is something I've always wanted to be able to do. I hope you all like it too!This painting was done for a friend of mine who managed to pull some strings and get one of my drawings of Dean Geyer to the man himself and recieve a hand written reply.
It's taken me far too long to get it done, but I got there eventually. XDBlack and white version:

A very realistic portrait of arguably of the most successful pop stars in recent history. Though I can't call myself a fan, I can respect the fact that Katy Perry is a walking success story; the only artist to spend 69 simultaneous weeks in the top ten of the Billboard 100, making massive millions of dollars and getting several Grammy nominations and other awards... and yet she's still under 30.
She keeps up her monumental success... and her name will be etched in history forever, especially through wonderful tributes such as this here.
You've done very well on her hair, the make-up, the eyes and the face, and truly created something amazing. It's a labour of love that's very hard to miss.
Well done on creating such a wonderful portrait of Katy Perry. A very praise-worthy piece of work...
