Yeah, I agree with you, they're not the best couple anime has to offer. I'm not going to bash the couple, I never actually watched Naruto, but I know about the couple, and the gist of what happens so I get where you're coming from. But I do LOVE the artist's drawings of these two, even though I don't ship them. The drawings make them more interesting then they are in cannon. I tend to prefer the fanbase's interpretation of these two. Β
I tend to like dark relationships as long as both parties are aware that their relationship is messed up and they can't seem to let go of each other because they need some sort of companionship. Those kinds of relationships are doomed to end, like in Kuzu no Honkai. I'm not too big on these two, I just REALLY love the slight BDSM undertones in the artist's work, and her awesome touch on anatomy. Β Β
Though I find it odd that the only time a anime couple gets together and gets married, in most cases, or has children, is in shonen anime, the genre that is least interested in showing relationships and romantic feelings.Β
