Description Blasts of energy whirled through the air at alarming rates. Blacks collided in explosive clouds with green. Commanders barked commands while warriors did what they could to merely survive. How had it come to this?

The battle between Azarath and the planet known as Tamaran had been raging for almost three years. The Tamaranian people had lasted this long on their sheer talent as warriors. War was not a new occurrence to them. But despite their skill, they were constantly on the defensive…until now.

Through one individual they had learned of a way to access the path to the opposite dimension that contained their foe’s home. They had struck the people off guard. After some time those of Azarath had been able to raise their powerful shield, but at a price. A quarter of their army was trapped outside, including their leader. What was worse, their weapon required an artifact their leader only held for activation. For the first time since that battle had begun, the Tamaranians were winning. This would be the final battle.

The commander of the army, Queen Koriand’r, flew, a heavy feeling in her heart. She had never wanted this. It had all been the result of a grave misunderstanding. Because of it, she found herself in search of her former friend and ally who had taken up leadership in the reformed people.
“ Starfire.” A voice growled behind her, causing her to whip around to see that very person.

“Raven.” She sighed, nearly apologetic. “Please! Stop this! Tell your people to retreat! If you ask for the surrender, no more will parish!”

“What do you care about MY people!” The former Titan’s eyes started to glow with the black energy that she could control.

Swiftly, the other former teammate swerved away from Raven’s attack that launched a moment later. Koriand’r’s heart ached. There was no way to reach her now.
“Please! I do not want this to end in the way it is heading. I do not want to dispose of you, friend-Raven!” She pleaded one last time.

“FRIEND? How DARE you call me that!” Raven, enraged, screamed, sending another round of blasts at the orange-tinted woman’s body. With some difficulty, the Tamaranian diverted the energy away with her own.

“You have taken EVERYTHING from me, Starfire! I had given everything I could so that YOU and the rest of them could be happy, safe! And then you try to take the ONE thing that is MINE. I will NOT ALLOW YOU to take my HOME! Can you really be that selfish!”

“Selfish!” Starfire glared, her star bolts forming by her hands. “I have not crippled a people who were already weak and had no chance of striking back! And for what? A happening I, my people, was not responsible for!”

Raven simply glared. “Who else would want her dead? Want ME dead, right after I had been trying to give you hope!”

No more words were spoken. Anger flew in the form of weaponry. The two fought in a deadly dance, knowing one another’s tactics well enough from the years spent battling side by side. The assault continued until one flash of mixed light filled the air.

The light so blinding, both sides froze for a moment. Only one thing could have caused such a reaction. The only question was, which one had survived?

On Earth a small girl wept.

For those of you going WTF? This is from an alternative storyline I’ve created over the past couple days. It takes place 10 years from when the show itself had left off. But it is, as said, an alternative storyline form any of the cannon. It’s kind of a sequel to my “Because I Knew You” piece in the fact that it splits from there.

A year after that image, Raven came back as promised to let her friends know that she was all right. While there she told them that she had been reconstructing Azarath and gathering the few people left. But, with no guidance and more refugees finding their way there, she had to stay with them. So it was in theory her goodbye.

The following year the Titans split to go their separate ways. Star went back to Tamaran to find the one she had left control too had somehow fallen incredibly ill. With no successor in sight, she was forced to take up command of Tamaran until a suitable ruler could be found.

Just as her search was narrowing down, she was paid a visit by Raven and the council of Azarath…plus one. Raven came in toe with a small four year old that she identified as her daughter, Astrapia.

In a private meeting, Raven told Starfire that her people had discovered four stones that provided a barrier and great weapon when activated that would keep them from any foe. Raven had heard of Tamaran’s horrible past, and had come to tell her that they were working on a way to replicate or make an alternate form of them for the planet. Starfire had been overjoyed. Unfortunately, there had been an unseen spy who over heard.

The spy was determined to get this system for them, and now. So he arranged an assassination attempt on the visitors, making it appear that Astrapia was the goal. He did not succeed in killing the child, but one council member did meet his fate, and one woman was injured. So started the war.

I’ll probably explain more with different pictures when I get time.

I’m quite proud of this, actually! ^.^ I think it came out really well. I hope it’s acceptable for the TT consume change contest. :/

Star and Raven belong to DC. I own Astrapia.

I don't know Teen Titans, but you captured the emotion on the girl's face really well. Maybe have them slightly more slender, proportionally speaking...but yes, very nice

I the picture!!!! Raven costume rocks! The background is so pretty! I love the blending of the colors (throughout the entire picture - very pretty!) Wonderful job on the story - I'm happy to see it's more solid. The clip was wonderful I look forward to reading the story itself.

X_X...you write...a lot. Maybe you should put the things in your deviations' descriptions into their own text files and put them up as prose.

Sawy it's annoying. :/ I only do it when the pic started with a story idea.... or one makes me write. *L* Thank you for commenting, though!

It's not annoying. I just hate to see so much work go into writing something without putting in its own place.
