His name is Baron as an intentional homage to the Red Baron from World War I since his default suit and civilian outfit are both red.
If it weren't for the fact that he's intentionally named after a historical figure, then Balon wouldn't necessarily be incorrect. Translation is funny like that sometimes.

Actually, it is "Baron." The confusion arises from the fact that in the Japanese language, the "r" sound and "l" sound are interchangeable.

it's both baron and balon, baron used for the toys and possibly balon in the show. so really i don't know what is the official spelling as of now.

that website is wrong, look at this link and look at the cast picture in the article. the balon team's logo clearly states "Team Balon"
