OTPtember 2020 day 30: Zaerith.
My first time drawing Aerith and Zack.
Next time I won’t rush and I’ll do better. Especially on Aerith’s hair. I should have looked at better reference sources. I love Zack’s bangs from Crisis Core, but I know everyone knows him with most of his hair pulled back. So I tried to compromise with very small bangs.

I was having trouble deciding if I should end OTPtember2020 with my favorite current couple, AkiRyu, or draw another couple that I hadn’t drawn before. But after procrastinating most of my time before midnight, doing the US census, the lack of time helped me decide on Zaerith, because it would feel incomplete to draw CloTi for the past 2 days, but never draw Zaerith for OTPtember.

I love how playful Zaerith is with each other. Aerith laughing at Zack flirting with her, when they first met, and him comically deflating then instantly returning to being his normal cheerful puppy self, is everything I love about them. That and how seamlessly emotionally honest and sincere they are with each other. Zack openly crying about Angeal and Aerith doesn’t judge him or waste words, she just hugs him---! ;u; They’re my seamless, matching, happy pair...with tragedy in store. ;_;

Drawn in Platinum Preppy fountain pen. No underdrawing, so only some mistakes cleaned up in Photoshop. I was thinking of cleaning up more, but I like my sketchy lines, and cleaning them up too many of them would make my drawing look less cohesive. Colored with Copic markers.
