Okay, I admit that I had speculation about Twilight Sparkle being an Alicorn at some point even before the rumors and spoilers of the 3rd season finale, "Magical Mystery Cure." Now, I don't have a problem with Twilight being an Alicorn; I just have two main issues to deal with after watching this episode: the pacing and how this will affect everything in the show itself.By pacing, I'm not talking about the episode itself (I mean, I think there were a lot of things crammed in there in a 20-minute cartoon, but that's not the issue I'm addressing), I'm talking about the pacing for Twilght's transformation. Overall, I think this is too soon to happen. Yes, there have been signs about Twilight's ultimate destiny from the moment Princess Celestia choose her as her protege. But I don't think Twilight has spent enough time in Ponyville to learn everything there is to know about friendship and magic, well a majority and important aspects of friendship and magic at least. I mean, it's been what, one or two years ago since her arrival? There isn't an official timeline to follow through, but considering they've just completed 3 seasons (or in my case, two-and-a-half since they only produce 13 episodes in Season 3), that still feels a bit too soon for a momentous occasion to happen like that. Heck, I thought that this episode was going to be the very last one of the series, which would make it sound like the creators were trying to wrap it all up before the show is cancelled. Fortunately enough, that didn't happened. But still, 13 episodes? Why?
Despite the sudden transformation, my biggest worry for the show itself is how this will affect the main characters themselves now that Twlight is a princess. Since Twilight will have many important tasks ahead of her, will this drive a wedge between her very best friends? Will Princess Twilight have the time to hang with her friends and go on incredible adventures while also maintaining her royal duties? I don't know. Oh, and let's not forget about the possibility of her newfound immortality. Celestia and Luna are pretty much goddesses in the world of Equestia since they have been alive for thousands of years. So will Twilight also live for that long, and if so, does the show's creators have any idea on how all this will affect her or her friends, especially when she will outlive them all? I don't even want to think about that!
But you know? What can we do about it? What's done is done. I'm just happy enough that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is getting another season (and hopefully with 26 episodes this time). Besides, maybe I'm overthinking these things, after all, this show is intended for children after all. Plus, there are other possibilties to consider on what the new season might bring for us. Other than getting an inside look at what it takes for Twilight to be a princess, the show might have some more character development for her friends; especially Rarity. Seriously, why didn't she get her own episode in the 3rd season? This would have never happened if they just added 13 more episodes to complete this season like they should have.
Oh, and despite treating Trixie as a joke in this comic, I really do hope she can make more appearances in the next season. She has a lot of potential to bring forth, like for example, what if Trixie was Twilight's new student or something like that? And speaking of which, you know what I would really like to see? What if they made an episode filled with shorts dedicated to some of the fans' favorite background ponies, such as Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, Lyra, Bon Bon, and of course, Derpy? Especially Derpy.
Okay, I think I've bored you enough with my insights and rambling as of now. My point for this comic wasn't just to provide humor for my readers; it was to put forth my own thoughts about what I think about all of this sudden change, and despite all that, I do have hope for what is yet to come in the next season.

*Author's note: I tend to be a very strong critique, so I will do my best to hold back, but don't be offended*
Over all, I enjoyed this. I have seen much better work on this site, but you obviously did your best, and the idea is good.
Let's start with the vision. I'm not in your head, but I can somewhat imagine what sort of an idea you wanted to pass on to your viewer. A funny light hearted jab at the Alicorn Twilight Sparkle and Trixie's want to replace her. You seemed to have well passed that on, good job.
Originality next, This is not the most original comic. I have yet to find one exactly like this though. Mostly the jab at our own Alicorn Twilight Sparkle, it has been used and re-used, where as the addition in of The Great and Powerful Trixie's choice of trying to replace her is quite new. Again, good job.
Now for the Technique. Personally, I don't think you did a very good job with this. You obviously have some strong points and some not so good ones. The background is well done. It resembles Ponyville in a true to Equestria way. You strong points seem to be the coloring and movement. The ponies color schemes are well done. Movement is also your forte, you can almost see the mane 5's legs moving in the first panel, and Trixie's cape really does seem to flutter after her arrival. Pinkie's legs seem to be a little too straight, almost rock like, in the last panel, but nothing crucial. Your not so good points seem to be the pony's proportions and face's, though the expressions them selves are pretty good. The mane 5's bodies almost change between panels. In the 3rd one Rarity's nose is quite awkward.
Next let's jump to the impact.
knowing the impact was meant to be humorous it was pretty simple to achieve. Good job on that.
Over all good job, work on the body proportions, Faces, and overall originality of your drawing style.

For originality i have to say i have seen the trixie-replacement thing done before but not quite this version. I actually like this version better than the other ones. I also liked how pinkie suddenly left through the far well and is like "Nope, Im done". Usually when i see comics where she leaves through the "fourth wall" that's what the whole comic is centered around. In this one she just randomly left which i think in a way fits her personality more. So altogether for that one 4.25 stars (i rounded again to 4.5)
For technique, as i said earlier: They look pretty accurate to the show but in someways different. I like this style your doing. Its not always that amazing if your using vectors. I give you 4.5 stars!

Yeah. I starting to suspect that it's already on Equestria Daily right now considering I've been receiving a lot of comments tonight.
Anyway, thanks for interpreting my art style for me. I can probably explain how I might have drawn them to be "skinny." I think often times I try to avoid drawing them to look... uh... "fat." Most of my focus on that issue was when it comes to drawing their bellies. How this might have transfer to their legs, I don't know. Maybe I wanted to make sure their legs aren't too short or something like that. Actually, I'll let you on a secret: Trixie in Panel 6 was originally drawn full scale (I originally wanted to put here in a bigger panel shot), but I was finishing up the coloring, I starting to see how misproportion her legs were. They looked pretty tall through my eyes. So I reduced that size of Panel 6 to crop out the legs.

Thank you very much for critique! As for your first critique, I think you have done a very professional job as an art critic. I especially like critiques that are very detailed like yours.
Anyway, I'm not sure if you were able to tell, but I've never worked with vectors before. I just use Photoshop to scan my inked drawings and color it from there.
Also, I didn't create the Ponyville backgrounds. I used someone's else background artwork. Don't worry. I credited the artist's work. The reason why I didn't take the time to create backgrounds this time was because I had to draw and color a lot of the characters for this comic. So I didn't want to waste more time when I have other stuff I want/have to do (mainly school, work, other projects, etc.) Sorry to disappoint.
You know, I'm kind of surprise how you have stated that I have a different style when it comes drawing My Little Pony Comics. I honestly can't see any distinctions myself since I try to capture much from the original show. I'm curious, can you point out some of these characteristics that you see in my artwork? I just want to see what make's my MLP comic artwork so different from everyone else's (like Veggie55).

I couldn't actually tell if you had used vectors or not. Even though i have seen lots of comics with vectors i still cant tell that well.
For the backrounds i was referring to 3,5 and 6. Because you credited the artist for 1, 2, 4, 7, & 8. It was good you credited the artists work because sometimes people don't do that. I understand that you couldn't have the time for the backrounds. I barely get to draw anymore because of all the homework and projects I'm buried in, and I'm only in 8th grade!
For the style thing i guess i have developed a bit of a knack for be able to tell how close to the show things are. Mostly what i noticed is you made some of there body parts longer and a bit skinnier like there necks, wings and unless i have been staring at the them the comic there legs. The best way to give you an idea of what i mean is if you look at RD in panel 1 and you look at her wings the tips of them are passing her flank. The only time i have seen this on the show is with Princess Cadence, and shes a skinny-ish alicorn pony. The pegasi ponies wings never really go past there flanks. This is the kinda the best way i can explain it. Although you may not see it but this makes your comics pretty unique. Its one of the reasons i watched you in the first place

There are so many pony fanboys/girls who love this stupid idea that Spike doesn't have any friends, and is just Twilight's live-in servant or something. First, it's already ruined due to its character prejudice.
Second, just because it's called My Little Pony, does that mean that ponies are the only ones we should care about? It's also called "Friendship is Magic" not "Friendship is for Ponies."

If Spike's presence actually would have added something to this comic, I could get where you're coming from. Β But in fan content like this, where Spike has nothing to do with the topic being discussed and shoeing him would have actually detracted from the joke being made, it just seems like you're needlessly griping over something that has nothing to do with the topic being discussed at hand (especially since this comic is supposed to be being played FOR LAUGHS!)

It would have added something to the comic. By mentioning him at least once, the artist could have indicated that the only friends he has give more than a shit about him. Instead, they're going on and on about just Twilight. One mention of missing Spike and Twilight equally wouldn't have been even slightly detrimental to the buildup to the joke.

And this is why you're ruining it: You're taking a comic that's supposed to be a joke and being all serious about something that has absolutely NOTHINGΒ to do with the subject being brought up then being a dick about it like everyone else who complains about Spike missing from this sort of thing.
As I recently heard from another reviewer replying to the same complaint you're bringing up: "There's asking why Spike isn't in a fic and there's being a dick about it. Β Guess which option you've followed (hint: it's not option one)."

You want to know why the girls don't mention Spike at all in this comic? Β I can give you two possible interpretations why:
1. Β How many teenage/young adult people do you know who would actually care about their best friend's annoying douchebag kid brother? Β As far as I know in both TV and real life, the answer is a big fat zero.
and 2. I know this contradicts my first reply to you, but did it not occur to you that Twilight might have left Spike in charge of the library while she was getting her Princess training because she knew that he couldn't bear to be separated from the friends he's made since they've arrived and they're on their way to see him? Β You immediately assume the worst about them without considering the other alternatives as to why he's not mentioned.
The sad thing is, you and other fans who complain about Spike being missing from fan content are actually starting to make me hate him more as a character when before, his actions in "Bridle Gossip" were the only thing I held against him. Β It gets especially worse when you consider that you're taking a minor piece of a non-serious joke comic seriously, which give me the impression that you're nothing but a humorless troll.
