I reinstalled the free Bryce to get at some free 3D content, and started played around with making a Bryce picture for the first time in 20 years. It used to be free in version 7.1 but I now see DAZ sell it for $20. Still useful for quick 40 minute sci-fi space pictures that don't need leafy trees or complex clouds.

Can import Poser and older DAZ content. Has obvious uses for making bases for 2D paintovers. Limited to 8 CPU cores though (enable at render time in render settings), and to have it use more than 2Gb of RAM you need to make Bryce "large address aware" (easily done with a little Windows utility).
