Description How to backup your DeviantArt Favourites exactly as you see them, all of them, with mouseover titles and clickable Web links:

Software: The free Singlefile Web browser addon at chrome.google.com/webstore/det…

1. First you scroll all the way down your Favorites page, right down to the bottom, thus loading all the thumbnails into your Web browser cache. This could take a while, on a long page!

2. Then once you're at the bottom, save the page with SingleFile. The addon will take quite a while to capture and save and parse a very large set of Favourites, to process the whole page. It took ten minutes for mine, but it worked and saved the page as a 20Mb single file with mouseover picture titles and links intact.  Since DA's links embed the name of the artist, it also captures the artist name.

3. That's it. Backup completed.  Saved to a single encapsulated HTML page on your hard-drive, for posterity or sending into an archive.

To make this 400px image seen here I then used Faststone Capture, in "Capture Scrolling Window" mode. It will have no trouble scrolling all the way down the SingleFile version of the page, whereas I found it will have trouble with scroll-capturing a "live" page on DeviantArt.

Main advantage: it's vastly quicker to visually consult your Favourites, in a fast-paced magazine production environment.

This could take a while, on a long page! I think that it will take forever in my case... about using webrecorder.io, archive.org?

thanks
