A sailor boy of mixed heritage I recently started playing in an rpg. Reference used.

This took me forever and a day. Well not really. 6-8 hours only, which is like...too friggin' little time in comparison to other work
I started at a very lowwww resolution @_@ and didn't think of upgrading until is was much too late =_=;; Oh the pain

That is teh spiffay... O_O Man, the color in this pic.. so wonderful... I love the hair, the eyes, and especially that beam of light hitting his face. Truly awesome.

... Did I mention those eyes are rocking the socks off my feet? @___@

Impressive. I can't paint so You get a bonus for harder to handle technique, perfection, proportioms (well this time he looks like a boy), for the details. I admired always drawing/painting hair with such beautifull reflexes.

^^ Thankies then, and I love art! So much better than maths... ugh... Anyway, I been trying to pratice construction a lot recently, but just can't seem to make my characters look real. I'm really bad at hands arms and legs, I think they are the worst things. (I usually find a way to cover up the legs i.e long dress ^^ But covering it up makes it worse.) And, I'm not really good at anything really, I like the way I do my eyes, but I could probably do with changing them too. *sigh*

Ah...I understand. (I abhor Math, by the way )

Well then, here's lesson one!

Don't cover up the hands or legs or anything you find difficult...if you don't draw them, you won't *learn* how to draw them...mistakes are a wonderful way of getting insight...don't let the feeling that things 'will be ugly' or 'not right' bother you in you choice for drawing something.
Try finding some good references...(I have tons of refs...I never wanted to when I was about 17 or so, because I felt like 'copying' but it's stupid not to use them actually )
Hands are very difficult, for me still a bit too...but it's very rewarding once you get the hang of it, because hands alone can tell stories on their own!

I'll be sure to put in extra attention to hands 'n feet yoh

^^ It's Crystal Prophecy actually!! Neva mind, no I don't have MSN, sorry *dad got angry about viruses * Crystal Prophecy is a video game I'm making, along with another called Stolen Destiny. Ohh...a GAME....WONDERFUL....one of my friends is studying to become a game designer/developer, so I basically have the same intention of doing artwork, but we won't be starting that until about 3 years form now *sigh*

No I don't have a site, exept this one but there is lots of stuff on DA about it. Its what I live for! ^^ I love games, they are so cool. I have been working on Crystal Prophecy since I was 10 (long time) and I've just started Stolen Destiny. We make books first, and my Stolen Destiny one is on my site, as well as the Crystal Prophecy one. To be honest, I'm thinking of starting Crystal Prophecy again.

Wow, 6 to 8 hours is pretty good..lol
The very first picture I ever colored in took me month to complete and I'm still not happy with the result.
Keep it up, you have some very nice work there. ^_^V

Practise is the key...also for slow-slow-slow peeps like me heheh.
For my current painting, I had to redo half of his hair...It already took me ages, but in the end..it's still worth it. Just see it as a learning process...it's never waisted time!

Once you get the hang of it, colouring'll come more fun and choices are made more naturallly. I'll start visiting Dev galleries soon....just two weeks and then my finals are almost over...wah

Thank you!! This was actually just a doodle that turned out to be quite good on it's own...I'm kind of a slow painter, and he only took me about 5 hours..which is really fast for me heheh.
