Another illustration I made for a folktales challenge. I love folklore and Mythology so I really enjoyed this. This has become one of my favorite illustrations of the year.Kitsune are spirit creatures from Japanese folklore. Some are tricksters, others are benign and defend the crops and fields. There is a lot to say about Kitsune and the stories are fascinating, however I focused in the idea that Kitsune often were thought shapeshifters, and often would turn into pretty women, while in this shape they would carry a gem where their power is stored
