Here's one from the distant past. I haven't been around dA much lately. Life changes. The photo was taken in studio in 2005. The woman was a young russian who spoke very little english. She wanted to be a model very badly. I shot it on 8x10 polaroid cross processed B&W neg with a Color receiver sheet. It's called chocolate polaroid. Using an 8x10 view camera with swings and tilts and the lens wide open gives the rest of the feel to the image.

Her name is Fiona Donegan. She is my goddaughter. First generation Irish in this country. I see family history when I look at her in the studio. Lovely kid. Very much a creature of the blood.

One of my favorite shots i have seen from you, so elegant and 17th century looking, the slight beige adds a nice feel.
May i ask how you cross processes a Polaroid ?

I can only imagine how you felt when this shot came out of the process. I don't think any of my words could do these shots justice. Very inspiring

Interesting you should put it that way. When I peeled the negitive off the print and saw the image I got so choked up. I had to walk away with it for a moment to the back of the studio. The model is my god daughter. She's part of the first generation born here. When ever I spend any time with her, I feel many generations back stirring in her. It was very powerful to see it in a photo.

I agree. When the print came out of the processor and I pealed it apart, it took my breath away. It is so like her soul. Thanks
