Description Composite of the world of Hyrule as seen during the events of both Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword.

This layout appeals to me.

For once someone doesn't insist on the Master Sword pedestal not moving! Thank you!

I mean, we see the pedestal move within the events of Skyward Sword: so why not anytime thereafter?

Personally I think the entire Temple of Time has moved once or twice. It moved south between OoT and TP. I don't buy the Northern Migration Theory. Also, the Great Plateau was totally lifted from the ground, forming a lake in which the Lost Woods reside in BotW.

Have you watched NintendoBlackCrisis' "The Swap" theory on YouTube?

Yeah, but I'd been slowly piecing together beforehand. That video is what made it finally click. I'd already deduced that the plateau was originally in the place of that lake.

This map actually makes more sense to me than the one that has TP mixed in. It might be because you used wide areas to color things together. Β Also, the fitting of the Temple of Time from one to another is odd- since I have viewed it as being located near the Castle (thanks to OoT), and yet in TP it's farther away (which matches with SS's location better).

I have always been a fan of maps, and I enjoy making them. I've realized through this series that, as much as I'd like key points and locations to match up, they do not: but that's OK! Artistic license will always affect maps between games; each game in the series has a certain "flavour" or theme, and the explorable terrain changes to accommodate this. The Temple of Time is one of the hardest locations to pinpoint exactly if we try to overlap in-game maps, however we can deduce a general location by trusting that the following is true.

If we go by what Hyrule Historia, in-game speech(es) and visual cues imply…
1. The sacred Temple of Hylia/Temple of Time is in the heartland of Hyrule
2. This region was once home to humans before Demise's wrath raged
3. It was overgrown by woodlands and left in ruin
4. The region was restored to it's former glory, and the kingdom of Hyrule and it's capitol were built around this point
5. Due to the fires of war, the capitol is relocated and the temple of Time is left in a state of ruin (Twilight Princess [CHILD], A Link to the Past/A Link Between Worlds [DOWNFALL])

Pinpointing an exact location goes out the window, but a general location can be determined: the ruin/temple/capitol lies near the centre of the world; the heartland. This map I put together doesn't do this justice: it merely overlaps two different maps from two separate games to give a general comparison.

Very true I need to get my hands on a copy of the english Hyrule Historia, since the Japanese one is serving as difficult for me to translate.

It's definitely worth a purchase; a great collection of Zelda lore, by far.
