This is my entry for the Diablo 3 contest.

This is my visualization of this character. I want him to look big, oversize, chunky and powerful.
Ethnic and Gothic at the same time.

Tools
Pencils(took ages to finish this ): koh-i-noor 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, 8B, Prismacolor Black and General's Carbon pencil in few spots.
It was done on 50x70cm paper

Background was don in PS.

Praca zrobiona na konkurs Diablo 3
Taka moja wizualizacja/wyobrażenie Barbarzyńcy. Chciałem, żeby był napakowany, wielki i zły
Chciałem połączyć elementy etniczne z gotyckim zacięciem jakie ma seria Diablo. Efekt możecie oglądać na załączonym obrazku.
Mam nadzieje, że się spodoba.

Popełniłem trochę błędów, ale też wiele się nauczyłem, to był super fun chociaż dłubanie tego w ołówku na
powierzchni 50x70 to strzał w głowę i wyrzecznie czasowe kilkudziesięciu godzin.

This is nice Even fits well with the Diablo 3 character intros. Love the pelt hes wearing scratching the 'floor' and all the other little details there.

Forever I draw really slow and I am not a professional artist, just an enthusiast . It took me 3 weeks to do this.
I work part time (3 days of week - this days i drew about 2-3 hour after work) and the rest week 6-10 hours.
"No rest for the wicked" XD. The picture itself is really big 50x70 cm. That big area, smooth dark shading and textures - it just take a lot of time.
Pencils are cheap but time consuming

I think that they are really good starting point to learn anything.
As you mention under the contest finals - people think that Photoshop make them draw or paint better.
No it doesn't.... this is a false promise. You can design, learn and do wicked stuff with simple pencils and learning process
is simple straight forward. There is no magical formula - take pencil, anatomy book or any other....fail, try again, fail better, few hundreds hours later you see progress.
And you know that this is no happy accidents, no magic romantic vibe to it,  it's You and your hard work make you better
