Species: African Spurred or Sulcata Tortoise (Sporenschildpad)
Latin name: Centrochelys Sulcata
Originates from the edge of the Sahara desert in Africa.
Current status: Endangered

…The African Spurred Tortoise is the third-largest species of Tortoise in the world, but the largest of mainland Tortoises.
…The name “Sulcata” stems from the Latin word meaning “furrow”, referring to the furrows on its scales.
