Very interesting. In fact Peter Lorre escaped to the US, and resumed making films, this time for Hollywood.
Between scenes of "Mr. Moto" movies, he would listen to the radio, and the news coming from Europe would upset him deeply. He would return to the set saying, "You want me to make a movie when the world is ending!"

Awesome job with this. Love the idea, and you did a great job with the pastels.
What makes this picture so interesting is that Peter Lorre was to flee Germany because he was Jewish, shortly after "M" came out. The Nazis even used his image from "M" in antisemetic posters, showing his murderer character as an example of a "typical Jew."
Bit of a tangent, but it also makes his part in "Casablanca" a lot more interesting, since he plays a character who gets dragged away by the Nazis.
