Hmmmm. I love this shot. The dark/light dividing it in the middle is kinda strange to my eye, but other than that it's very well composed. It's almost as if the clouds are emanating from the tree itself. Interestingly enough, I have a tree just like this in my backyard and it does, in fact, emit smoke whenever I sit under it and daydream. How about that?

Wow! That is an amazing photo! The color just pop, and I love the title you chose. It looks as though a storm is brewing.... just gorgeous. The lighting is beautiful, too. The shading adds so much to the shot. Great!

Well seen, it created a nice illusion. The only bit of criticism I could offer is that I agree on the tilted horizon, and I would have liked to see some detail in the dark ground front right, but it may be poor calibration of the screen here at work.

i don't think it's tilted, i think it's another illusion bit because of the hilly terrain on the left side. the lack of detail on the right looks like it's from the sun sinking lower in the horizon, and if that's correct, then by my experience, you could have any camera in the world, and you wouldn't get detail out of it

another way you can tell it isn't tilted is the tree. The trees i know grow straight up unless there's a storm or a large rock in the way. the grasses are also at the correct angle to the horizon and focal point, and plants like that don't usually get much taller than the rest of the other stalks. this picture is wrought with optical illusions

Fair comment, I'm just overly sensitive about horizons as I am often guilty of not checking for a straight horizon, now I am very conscious about it and I see what you mean by the grasses. As for trees, I have seen trees in Cape Town here in South Africa that grows at 30 deg angle from the constant wind blowing, and I'm not talking about little trees either, I'm talking big Pine trees.
As for the dark foreground, I'm quite fond of the Shadow/Highlight tool in Photoshop to help me adjust an image with big light contrasts.
BTW, I actually like the photo a lot, the things that I pointed out is very minor, and it is only my personal opinion, and it is meant in an honest positive way - as I would hope people would judge my art.
