Description Forgive me, friends,
if I cannot see life as a feast.
There is a feast indeed
sprawling by the roaring fire
in the long hall of the gods.
A sparrow flies in from one
empty window
of the great hall and flies out
through another, does not peck
at the food, feels no warmth
ย of the hearth, does not
see the shadows
of the gods who feast in the great hall.
Dark and empty floats the air
above the light and heat
and the sizzling and crackling
of the universe.
It lifts up the sparrow as it
flits by,
leaves the darkness behind
and is not seen again.

Thank you so much! Yes there is a mystery to this poem even for me, because I'm not fully sure what I'm writing aboutย
