Just in time for summer, here is South America's guard! We have Kion the jaguar (the fiercest), Fuli the vicuña (the fastest), Bunga white-nosed coati (the bravest), Beshte the tapir (the strongest), and Ono the toco toucan (the keenest of sight.)

Kion of course had to be a jaguar (what other animal was there for him?), but the others were harder. South America has a lot of birds, jungle, and mountainous animals, but not much in the way of fast runners or exceptionally large, strong animals. I decided to go with a tapir for Beshte because they're sturdy and tough, and a vicuña for Fuli because they're plains/mountain-dwellers and can run reasonably fast. Herbivores that live out in the open must be speedy or they'll be killed off by predators. As always, Bunga was the hardest. Bravery is subjective. I decided to go with an animal that often hangs around humans, because in my opinion, an animal must be pretty "brave" to live so close to humans. And a toucan was a must for Ono, because...toucans!

Hey I just got a two ideas. Make Minecraft Guard. One with animals and one with mobs/monsters! (Pls in second one make skeleton as Fuli. Skeletons in Minecraft are really fast.)

I know next to nothing about Minecraft, I’m sorry. If you want to commission it and pick out specific creatures, that’s fine, but otherwise I’ll probably just stick with animals.

Oh okay... and I wish to do commissions but I am poor as kids in Africa.

I would've picked an Ocelot for Fuli; but from your description of vicunas, I guess it makes sense. I have to agree with you on the bravery thing, though. Animals must be pretty brave to live near humans

I can tell you put a lot of thought into it. No body really knows the South america animals.

Thanks! I found it kind of tricky to figure out which animals live in South America. I know that sounds stupid, but there are a lot of animals that seem to live in a bunch of different places, and trying to figure out how common a specific animal is in a specific country can actually be pretty tricky!

You've heard of "The Lion Guard"

Now get ready for...

Hi there. I really love your Alternate Animal versions of The Lion Guard. So when are you going to do The European, Ice Age & Dinosaur Guards? Just asking. Please be sure to let me know. Thanks!

MonocerosArts In reply to multidinoguy [2017-08-25 20:50:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! I don't know when I'll be doing them. The next one I'll be doing is the European Guard, then the Dinosaur Guard, and then maybe an Ice Age Guard. I don't know when they will be, though. I have a lot going on and not much time! Right now I'm working on a rather big art project involving angels, so it will probably be a while before I do more Lion Guards! Thanks, tbough!

Bunga (the bravest): Gustafsonia

Beshte (the strongest): Platybelodon grangeri
Ono (the keenest of sight): Argentavis
