Hey guys!
This is a commission for the wonderful of Raven and Beast boy for his RP
Here is 's description for the picture.
"After watching Raven looking out for some new books and buying them, he decided to follow her a bit more outside, where it began to rain.
Like in t he last few weeks the rain turned heavy really qickly and the distant crackling of thunder could be heard.
BeastBoy, his hood deep over his face followed her quite a time before the empath noticed something, turned around and saw the black cloaked stranger. He hadnΒ΄t stopped, walking past her and bumps her arm before Raven could even speak a word, vanishing in the occuring fog."

Aw, I absolutely love the meloncholy vibe of this picture. The rain/background is done perfectly so as to add to the characters instead of taking away from the focal point and I love the outfits/overall designs you did for both of them. Lovely!

The expression on Raven's face and the way she is positioned convey the battle against the rain to stay dry, but the look in her eyes, the hunch and closeness of her arms and shoulders [which are somewhat contributed to the rain and possible wind / chill, admittedly] , the very slightly opened, slightly saddened mouth, the slight mussing of her hair, and the tiny frown Raven is wearing show a deeper sadness.
The umbrella's spokes are exceptionally well drawn, and it is perfectly balanced in its presentation. The way the raindrops are shown spattering against [the umbrella] displays how hard the rain is falling as well as highlighting the umbrella and the rain itself.
The way the light shines off the slick, wet surface of the umbrella agrees with how the light and shadows are shown in the rest of the picture. Raven, the umbrella, and the streetlamp in particular are very well drawn in terms of light and dark.
The contrast between the dark metal of the lamp and the light of the clouds and sky draw attention to the sky as well as the streetlamp, which in turn shows how well the light and shadows are actually drawn.
The slight redness of Raven's chakra jewel and the [book's cover] give the picture a slightly more balanced appearance overall.
The darkness of Beast Boy's coat as compared to the rest of the picture, as well as the blurriness, really capture his presence, and the blurriness in particular shows that he is not close to Raven, but following at a small distance.
There is more to say.
But I cannot possibly say it.
It is indescribable.

Empaths are highly sensitive emotionally, meaning they can sense someone else's emotions very easily. Raven's powers are controlled by her emotions and it's also been shown that she's affected by other's emotions if she lets her guard down. Hence, she's referred to as an "empath" in the commissioner's description.
And to reply to your other comment, this isn't an RP but more like an AU. From what I can tell of JayNut 's commissions to momijigirl , this is suppose to be after the episode "The Beast Within". O didn't know that about her. I do know what an empath is though as i am one.
i need to find this show again... it sounds like some interesting stuff happened after a while.

Yeah, in the original Teen Titans cartoon (not the new chibi-styled one) they give Raven's character a lot of in-depth when it comes to her powers and her father's heritage. There are several episodes explaining why she's so apathetic and keeps her emotions minimal, and one especially is about Beast Boy and Cyborg getting lost in Raven's inner world and meeting her hidden emotions in shapes of herself but in different colours (Red being rage, Purple being passion, Pink being happiness, etc). There was also one episode where Raven and Starfire switched bodies which talks a bit more about Raven's powers being emotionally controlled.
Even though they didn't keep Beast Boy and Raven canon as they are in the original comics, it was still very good. Β΄ v`β₯ Too bad they discontinued it, but at least BB and Raven are canon as they should be in the new one, Teen Titans GO!.
