I loved this story by the end but near the beginning I nearly X'ed out of it.

To me, the beginning felt rushed and I feel that there is a lot of untapped potential for establishing character development in that first half of the film. Also I would suggest cutting out those intermissions that tell the viewer what time of day it is? It is redundant as you can see what time of day it is by looking at the sky in the background and on top of that it distracts from the story, particularly in the first half. Just as you are getting involved with the characters the screen goes dark and says btw its noon now. -_- Its like you weren't as sure of your self in that part of the plot and were trying to use the intermissions as a crutch? IDK.

Once the monster stepped in tho, my opinion did an about-face. Suddenly all the characters were revealing unique traits through their actions, like the sons bravery by sitting in front of his mother and sister, and the mothers... I guess cowardice... both times she losses her children she is visibly distraught and yet is too fearful to try to save them once she sees the monster; yet you can't blame her because you know that she knows that there is nothing she can do; and then there is the wild beast who becomes friends with the little girl because she was kind to him and gave him an apple and so he gives up his LIFE for her... that made me feel. All with no words.

so yeah, more of the 'character development' and 'making me feel' and less of the 'telling me what time it is with distracting and redundant intermissions'.

I really like the film some good stuff. I think its done in AE? My main suggestion is to work with your four legged walk cycles. Your fox is the first animation that we see and I think it is not at the same quality of animation as your other characters. I think the best way for you to improve the character walk

I really like how you told the story through absence: Absence of dialogue, yet we know what is being said or screamed through the music...Absence of faces, yet we know what the characters are feeling through their body language...Absence of most color, yet the lighting effects and what color there is contribute greatly to the mood of the story.

You guys did a truly amazing job and the award was well deserved.

What's more, I truly appreciate your sharing your work on deviantART. You've made this accessible to many, many people, allowing for more people to appreciate it, but not only that, but to also raise the standard of animation posted on this site. So again, amazing job!
