Description Commissioned from the lovely and talented Dom-Bul . He's doing commissions and needs money, youΒ could get something pretty like this! Also this is non-canon, so there's that.

It is often said that history is a logical progression of cause to effect, that things follow trends and patterns set either by large-scale societal movements or in some cases the influence of a single great leader. Regardless, it goes without saying that in the history of the world, the Empire of All Celts (Ymerodraeth yr Holl Geltiaid)Β is one of those things that proves this idea wrong in almost every way. Not once has it ever fit neatly into the world's wider historical eras, and in many ways seems almost like a world unto itself for many reasons, be they cultural, political, or economic.

Composing the entirety of the Cambrian Isles (Ynysoedd Cymru), the Empire was formed in the twilight days of the Third Century Crisis as a splinter state of the ailing Roman Empire. Since its formation, it has remained stubbornly focused on maintaining its unique cultural identity as the only Celtic-majority state in the world as well as one of the last Pagan states in Europe at a time of increasing Christianization. In the thousands of years that it has existed, the Empire has also been an unusually progressive and tolerant state, developing political and economic theories such as constitutionalism, collectivism, and social meritocracy alongside maintaining ancient cultural practices such as polytheism, monarchism, and state theism. The fact that the Empire is both highly traditional and highly progressive does not seem to present itself as a conflicting identity to its inhabitants.

Far and away one of Europe's strongest nations, the Empire numbers some 90,000,000 people and is one of its strongest economic powers, though it lags behind other states such as the Union of Germania, the Haudenosaunee Confederation, and lately upstart states like the Empire of Nihon and the Empire of China. Cities like Llundain, Dinas Ymerodraeth, and Dubh Linn are some of the largest and most developed in Europe, and have acted as centers of political and cultural development for centuries not just for the Empire but for the wider continent as well. The Empire also benefits from a small collection of overseas holdings, most notably the "city-state" of Manhata, an island city that has become highly developed and the economic dynamo of Afallon.

Long sidelined from European affairs, the Empire has become increasingly integrated into Europe starting from the 1600s onwards. Notable events in this can include the Third League War, the Great Revolution, and the Long War, all of which the Empire would prove to be instrumental in determining the outcome of both militarily and diplomatically. It, along with France and Germania, would be the founding members of the European Commonwealth, though the Empire has also maintained its presence in the Commonwealth of Nations, a global alliance of nations originally formed to oppose European aggression and expansion but nowadays exists to promote peace and stability in the modern world.

It is the oldest functioning democracy in Europe and the world, as well as having the world's oldest still-active written constitution and generally being one of the oldest nations on Earth overall. Currently under the reign of Emperor Tamlan X, its government is dominated by the Senate, an ancient institution of government that has set the precedent for Senatorial Democracies the world over. This system of government is balanced between the rule of both a directly-elected President and two Chancellors appointed by the Senate, all of which is kept in check by the High Tribunal that serves as final arbiter of legal disputes and constitutional oversight.

Long at the forefront of development and progress, the Empire maintains this status and continues to serve a leading role in the increasingly multipolar world of today, even as mankind now moves outwards from its home planet. There are those who say that the Empire is eternal. This certainly seems to be the case, as the Empire has survived countless trials and tribulations for more than 1800 years and has outlasted the rise and fall of dynasties and empires. And now, as the Empire leads the path to permanent off-world settlements, the Empire seems determined to outlast the planet itself and extend its existence even longer than this fragile world can allow, bravely adventuring into the unknown.

I suspect Marchnad Ecen would attain a similar prominence in medieval times under Celtic rule as it did in English, while also serving as a source of financial and ruling elite dating back to Boudicca.

Absolutely not. They're actually 100% opposed to it on ideological grounds, and spend the majority of the colonial era trying to screw over European efforts to do so.

I have some confusion
Based on the information from CAB, should it be Afallonian holding instead of American holding? Because I remember that OTL’s North America/South America would be TTL’s Afallon/Hesperia

Also, should it be 1510CY instead of CCY because I remember CCY was around the Middle Empire before the 10th century AD?

It's just a few errors the artist made with it, they can be overlooked.

I see. It’s actually another artist who commissioned this, not you.

But still, I’m looking forward to your next works about CAB, and I certainly can’t wait to see how would you do the timeline when it reach the 20th and 21st century

Also, in CAB, is there any Arthurian Legend, things like King Arthur, Excalibur sword, Camelot, Knights of the Round Table and stuff like that?

Which make me quite curious about how the Japanese, or should I say the Nihonese will do the Fate series in this world. Btw, have you heard about that visual novel/mobile game series?
