Pencil linework and digital color.Willow Mist, A fairy character I illustrated for my local municipality. They have a Fall Festival every October and they have FOUR fairy characters who appear at the festival for the kids. Different women have played the character over the years, so for this artwork they wanted a generic look except for the hair color. This art was used on T-shirst, posters and the like.

Me too, a good choice to sell as a TUBE, but I did this for decent money for my local municipality. It's a depiction of one of several fairy Characters whom are played by real women at their October Fall Festival. But I could create some original ones for TUBE use. I suspect fairies are popular with girls.

Actually the 2000s hair fairy. All the real-life fairies have kind of BIG hair...they all wear wigs of course.

The woman in charge of the fairies is a huge Disney/Tinkerbell fan. The fairies are pure fantasy and she'd have it no other way.

Am just not a big dwarf, elf, fairy, goblin, gnome, troll type of person, ya know.
But that doesn't stop me from cranking out stuff with a talking dog in it. But now that I think about it, Scooby isn't too vocal in my series.

I'm not a huge High Fantasy fan either. I love fantasy but more in the Scooby or Star Wars vein.

I have seen the first one....and none of the others. Not all that interested in it. I read the HOBBIT and FELLOWSHIP years and years ago. The TRILOGY seemed a bit long and repetative to me.

All three are good, and this comes from a non-fan who hated The Hobbitt and didn't bother to read the others. Two Towers is my favorite...amazing since not only is it a tweener, but most tweeners are bridges between two complete stories. Fellowship is a decent start, but check out the Towers, especially the second half! You'll never mock a tree again!

Oh! I thought you WERE talking about the books! My bad! At this point, I kind of LIKE being able to tell folks that I have NOT seen the films! It kind of flips out some folks! Like when I didn't see FOREST GUMP for a LOOOOOONG time. And when I did see it, I didn't like it very much. I'm so radical!
But Star Wars is so friggin' cool! That is my freak!

No, these fairies are squeaky clean I'm afraid. If there is anything behind her back it may be a tazer to ward off overly friendlt festival goers.

these are just lovely!! it must be pretty cool to have people wandering around wearing your art and collecting the posters! just awesome!! sounds like a great time!

The posters were small 6.5 X 11" freebies, so I'm sure most of them got thrown out by the time they got home, and the shirts did not sell all that well, I am told. With the nicer weather coming on, perhaps I'll spot some of the T-shirts around town. They were clearly aimed at women and little girls.
I told the woman who runs the Fairy Show stuff, that she needed to generate some male interest, so she should put together a "Spank a Naughty Fairy Booth". I think it could be a big money maker. I wonder if she'll do it?

Actually, the woman in charge of the fairies told me a funny story... The woman who played one of the fairies for two or three years, came back one fall with a major breast augmentation! She no longer fit into her costume, and they have always played down the breasts on the girls anyway, placing lots of gauzy stuff over their bosom. She got EXTRA gauze that year and I think THAT was her last year as a fairy.
If it was my fairy show, I'd say to HELL with costumes at all, and spray them with glitter! We'd have the naughty fairy review. I'd sell a buncha tickets for that show!

Oh wow! All four of these are really great, Biv. Gods, it's so cool to me that you get into things like that, seeing your art used by your home town, being worn and enjoyed by people all around you. That must be such a wonderful feeling. Fantastic work, bud.
