Description I found a great artist on DA who goes by MAdams06. She is a model who seems to specialize in vintage and burlesque photos -- in short, right up my alley.
After browsing her gallery and putting her on my watch list, I asked if I could use one of her wonderful pics as a reference photo. I know, I know... normally I'm so proud of my work without reference photos.

Anyway, the photo I used is a rich and gorgeous shot called "Tango", featuring the beautiful MAdams06 and another lovely model, Sable Sin Cyr.

Anyone who knows my work knows that I'm absolutely in love with the whole black, white, and red theme, and this photo was a perfect fit for that style.

I created a nice floral background pattern, and decided to make both models have ultra-white skin, with minimal shadowing. I wanted to maintain the spirit of the original photo, while also adding in my own little touches.
I think it turned out very well.

Illustrator CS2, 5 hours.
Enjoy!

You did a great job on this one. It looks like you spent more time on it than your previous works. Great work.

Thanks! I did spend a bit longer on that one... I'm usually very impatient. I get bored with my work very quickly. I'm trying to be more patient with my work, though.
Thanks very much for the feedback!

It seems as if the more time you spend on a piece the better it looks.

The only thing that bugs me is that you have this wall paper that is also the surface plan. I'd say separate it but then I don't think the piece would be as strong unless you have it the way you did.

Well above that, looks great. Next piece spend 7 hours on it and see what happens.

Yeah... I actually tried having a separate surface plane, but, I just didn't like the way it looked.

You're right... the longer I take to develop a piece, the better it turns out. I just have so little time these days, and I still have so many images I want to draw!

Thanks for the great feedback!
