I made the original sketch over 6 months ago with my mouse before I had a Wacom tablet. I didn't work on it for awhile until I was showing some people a few sketches and they suggested I finish this one. So, here it is.

The moon is rising, darkness will descend. I hear them coming, my life is soon to end. I pray my final prayers, knowing my cries fall on deaf ears. The door swings open - I catch a glimpse - of what is soon to be, the climax of all that is me. They drag me down the hall, as I suddenly recall...

I love what you did with the stick figure and the "mommy" on the wall. Very eerie and disturbing. Love it.

Cool picture. I think the mommy thing is a little cliche, I mean I guess you have your own reasoning for it and im sure you have a mental problem you've envisioned for this guy, im just saying I wouldnt have put something like that in something I did. just not my thing heh. anyway, the atmosphere is pretty cool. the angle works nice too.

It's neat neat neat! Got to love that blood. I do get that asylum feeling. I was visiting a friend on closed ward (she wasn't allowed to go out and had nothing but one set of clothes). It reminds me of sitting in that room with her. We looked out the window and watched the nearest neighboors trough their window. It was a weird but good visit. I miss her, I had a great time visiting her, I used to go every day after school. But then she became sane and distant

I think my favorite part is the tile...it gives a nice effect of realism and attention to detail.

I love the emotion.. and the feeling of withering inside.. that comes from this image. It's so darkly disturbing.. and yet graceful.

This is beyond awesome, I hate leaving one word comments, but I can think of no other words to describe it.
Some people have said they find it creepy or depressing, I find it soothing in a way I can't explain. It's not an over the top "I cut myself cos I'm 13" pic, nor is it a "give him a teddy and he'll be happy for life" pic, it seems to be just about the best mix betwen the two.
From the blood you can tell the guy is depressed and tortured inside, but from the pose he looks almost reflective, and that maybe what he has just done was the final escape he needed to dispell the demons from him. Whatever he has being doing has being frantic, but the picture seems to capture a still moment where he is almost calm, and perhaps (with the lighting) for the first time in his life he is the centre of attention. I cannot explain how deep this picture seemed to draw me in to analyse it, I very rarely feel this way about artwork, I'm a poet, words are my poison, but this picture speaks even more than a book could.

Hopefully my future works won't let you down. I'm working on a piece right now which is more similar to Asylum than anything else I've ever done, yet extremely unique in its own right. It most likely won't be completed for a couple more weeks, and I'll probably submit another image or two in the meantime. So, keep a lookout.
