Lovely drawing, though it got me thinking about Firelight...and that got me thinking about something near the end.
Nuala was mad at Charla for "*spoiler*-ing" the *spoiler*s, but Lance remarked how it wouldn't have been possible to do something like that without leaving something behind. He remarked that even the most powerful dragon in the world wouldn't have been able to do it.
This then got me to thinking about the final battle in The Eternal Night. Yeah, there was still tiny rocks and dust left, but one more wave of Aether would probably have done it...

Ah, that's an interesting connection to make, and one I can't say I thought of myself... But it makes sense, doesn't it? If any dragon could be considered the most powerful dragon in the world, it would be a purple dragon (particularly when using aether/convexity/whatever-you-call-it), but Lance doesn't believe in purple dragons. So perhaps it would be possible, at least for a purple dragon using that power, to disintegrate a living creature into nothing at all--even one as big as Gaul. Not that Lance would know or believe that.

The way things are looking with the story taking place at the same time as ANB and TEN, I predict that the gang will arrive at the Well of Souls at roughly the same time as Spyro.
If that prediction is correct, then it means the following things:
1) Spyro's assault will cause a distraction which will make it easier for them to infiltrate the fortress undetected.
2) They'll have little time to escape before the mountain collapses on top of them.
3) They might actually witness Malefor's return, which will probably blow Lance's mind (because purple dragon and all).
4) They might actually witness what Malefor did to the Ap-

Do remember, though, that there is no canonical timeframe for when Malefor cursed the apes. It could have been immediately after his return, or it could have been days, weeks, even months afterwards... After all, there's a whole three years between the Night of Eternal Darkness and the first time we see the cursed apes.

Regardless of when it happens I can already tell that it's going to be a major plot point, there's no way it couldn't be.
Exactly how major depends on a few factors:
1) If it affected the entire species, or only those under Malefor's command.
2) Whether or not there was a method of avoiding it.
3) Whether or not the curse is permanent.
It holds the potential to shape the rest of the story, turning it into one about saving a friend from a fate worse than death, or one about grief and loss. Both are powerful themes, and which one eventually comes to pass is ultimately up to you. While all this is speculation on my part, I will ask you the following question:

Oh gosh, I don't think so, haha. Firelight on its own is a loooong story, imagine how huge it would be as a comic.

Oh i also feel like the eye looks a little disconnected due to shading problems. Love the rough fur shading but on the flatter parts and the wing and eye it looks a bit to flat i think
