I have always wanted to take a photo like this. I have never been able to execute it correctly. I tried it again last night, and I know there are some parts where I can improve on. Maybe next time.
I am was very nervous about uploading this lol.

love the pose...this is a really beautiful picture of you. "elegant and cute" is a perfect way of summing it up. you'll always feel like you can do better (if you ever STOP feeling like that, then youve got an issue

Exactly. Exactly what I was going to say. I should have used a backdrop or a blank wall, and after I took it, I realized it. But then when I saw the photo, I liked it so much that I kept it haha. I'm vain!

Well, I am from Chicago, I was born there, but we have moved around a lot, so now I am stuck in California. Haha. But I am making it my mission to get back to Chicago soon, maybe a year or two.

dont be nervous at all. this isnt a nude or porn. Its clearly a beautiful expression of emtion. It is an artistic moment. I really like where your going. Do you have remote and mirrors? Mirrors can be used to show you what camera sees so you can adjust yourself.

Those were some AMAZING examples, thank you so much. =] I really did want this to be artistic, thank you so much for saying that. I didn't want to try and "show off" or anything yanno? I really wanted it to be about art and photography. I don't have a remote, but I am really thinking of getting one. I used the self timer for this shot, then shot 10 photos in a row, I liked this one best. I have a mirror like, 2 feet away from where I took this photo! I wish I had thought of that first haha. But for next time, that will help a lot I think. And yes it is great talking about beautiful women, and their art.

Showing off, I had to laugh, your stunningly beautiful just hidden under you laid back you. If you ever had a glam makeover the runway scouts would fall over themselves running to sign you up!
When you think about timers remember you can get one thats wireless or with wire. They are not too expensive

If you keep doing any macros, night shots, family shots with you in them, or self portraits..... You will want a remote. I had one for my old camera, i need to get one.
Not to be too nosey, but How tall are you. You appear to be tall when I see your photos. As far as pretty enough Ill just agree to disagree with you.

I'm not that tall hehe, I'm like, 5'4 and a half, last time I checked. Yeah women who look like that, it's sad and not attractive @ all.

If you dont have steady hands Dont over look a quick and easy monopod. Here is my super light hiking/trek stick with a camera attachment [link]
you can get one for walking in the park or you can get a real monopod on ebay pretty reasonable. You are going to be able to save a buck, I had to do a tall one (im 6'2'') lol.
IF YOU Dont have a monopod/tripod with you. Think about stabalizing yourself. Lean your fingers / elbo on a wall when you shoot. Put the camera on top of park bench while you shoot. or even consider a mini pod liek dis one: [link]

Thats why I suggest taking shots with full lengh mirror near or behind camera. you can see the little details like that flare.
you can use your eye to set the shot, turn and work your magic.

That is so smart of you. Seriously, I wish I had thought of that so this one didn't come out as blurry. Now all I need is somewhere with nice lighting, and a blank wall.

If you cant do natural light try this trick
Get regular lamp and diffuse it. Either shoot it in your mirror to reflect the light OR put a sheer lacey material or something like VS underware lol. Anything that difusses the light.
and as for blank walls, try a sheet of gorgeous fabric

I put two lights behind me when shooting. I dont have an external flash. I then put a nice fabric behind him. Its actually a baby blanket.
