I read it in 7th grade... well, the third part, anyway. It was one of the books in the classroom for the students to choose for book reports. And... I swiped it at the end of the year... *nervous glances*
Anyway, that's when I was living in a small town, so limited ressources. After we moved to a city (when I was thirteen), I was able to find the other two at the library, and eventually was able to buy the first one from a used book store. But, as it was out print at the time, I couldn't find the second one for sale ANYWHERE.
Three days ago, I'm at work (I work at a Zellers), and it was time for my break, and I went to buy a snack because I had forgotten my lunch at home. There, on the shelf, amid cookies and chips, was the re-published edition of all three volumes. It was waiting for me, I'm telling you.

Yeah, Julian put it there, most likely. I think he likes his fangirls, though none will ever hold a candle to the light Jenny has in his heart.
Still, having a crush on him in the 7th grade is kinda disturbing when you think about it. I'm 22 now, btw.

Ok, yeah, Julian is irresistable. And a pedophile, he's been wanting Jenny since she was five!

Oh please, everyone likes good-looking pedophiles. Edward Cullen ring a bell?

Well, since he "died" when he was 17, some people may argue that it doesn't count, but... yeah. LoL... I think it's the danger that thrills innocent virgins.

Hooray! More Julian awesomeness. I always loved that scene on the balcony! Also, in reference to the earlier mention of the "mullet" thing, I always figured it was more of a faux hawk type thing... long in the front, long in the back, and short on the sides.. definitely not a mullet. So it's safe lol. I cannot imagine an ageless "evil" entity such as him having a mullet.. evil or not.
Awesome picture! ^_^ I am re-reading the books now with the new release, maybe I'll be making another FG related pic soon too.

Aye-aye-aye...
Ok, there was a book written of Labyrinth, but it's a movie. With David Bowie. And, while it doesn't have Kermit the Frog, the Goblin Muppets are thanks to Jim Henson's Creature Shop. It was one of the last projects he did before he died.
Labyrinth is actually pretty silly, but when you know the Forbidden Game and you watch Labyrinth, you can see where L.J. Smith got some of her inspiration. David Bowie plays Jareth, the king of the goblins, and he wears clothing that leaves very little to the imagination, especially his pants.
Jenniffer Connelly (sp?) was 15 at the time, and plays Sarah.
Sarah is a teenager who thinks she's being mistreated because her father re-married and with the new wife had a baby boy, Toby. She feels neglected because of that, so one night she wishes for the Goblins to take Toby away.
They do.
So then Jareth appears, and says if she wants her brother back, she'll have to solve the labyrinth that surrounds his castle. But every once in a while, he pops in and says she could give up and he could give her her dreams. Sound familiar?
Anyway, it's a fun, song-filled thing.
