Inspiration smacked me bam in the face late last night but I had no idea what to draw. Doodled around a bit before hand before settling with drawing some pokemon again (I recently got 2 pokemon phone charms which may have influenced me). Wanted to try something I hadn't drawn before, and well... Suicune is kinda cool. Also, I needed to rework my digital colouring and such as after a week away I'd almost completely forgotten how I shade things. Oh well.Enjoy!

I'm happy to see you didn't draw it as the typical "SPARKLE WULF!!!" so many people think it is. Really nice work on your anatomy, and the leaping pose is awesome. I like the gargoyle/dragonish face, or whatever you got inspired by, it fits what Suicune is actually based on much better, and you actually made it look fierce.
I prefer Raikou and Entei myself, but still, great pic!

Thank you very much indeed 8D I try my best to deter as far away from the original pokemon style as possible. And agreed, Raikou and Entei are far better. I may give it a try drawing all 3 of them eventually.

Suicune! It's one of my favorite legendaries of all time, I mean, it looks so beautiful and I love your take on it here in your style. I just want to reach out and pet it before it flees lol

Ah well... *thinks* I guess in that guess, just practice on adding three dimension to his face so it doesn't look to flat. Like with his muzzle for example. It has that large metal-like piece around it, you can start there for practicing maybe? I just say that because out of his whole body besides his long flowy hair, that seems the hardest.

Never said that, but Suicune is the embodiment of the North Winds, and is distinctly not-male. Suicune is the rains that quenched the fire that engulfed Burned Tower, not Raikou or Entei, the lightning that started it or the fire that engulfed it. She/it is the peacemaker, not the rip-yer-face-off type o.o

In the matter of pokemon "lore", that is true. However, the sheer fact that you can use Suicune to essentially beat another pokemon into submission does hint at slightly violent tendencies. I could also refer to the 13th pokemon movie in which Zoroark disguises himself as the 3 legendary dogs and destroys a city. This could be Zoroark in disguise.

You can pummel any Pokemon into submission with any other Pokemon, doesn't mean they're all savage beasts, lost all sense of themselves and just tear their opponents to shreds. Having not seen the 13th movie however, I cannot reply to that claim. I understand a Charizard, Tyranitar, or indeed any Pokemon with violent tendencies to be drawn in such a way, but not ones that do not intend to cause harm, such as Suicune, as can be furthered by the anime, where it runs away at every opportunity, only fighting when the need is dire.

And who's to say the need is not dire? Also, Entei and Raikou also flee when engaged in battle but can also be considered "violent". Anybody and anything can be violent given the right motive or via other means. Also, pokemon are just animals really. Realistically, all wild pokemon would have to hunt for their food which they would then proceed to tear to shreds. Unless legendaries have some kind of photosynthesis thing going on, they wouldn't be much different.

I understand the plant pokemon getting their food from such, and even the 'herbivorous' Pokemon, I also understand the need for the carnivorours Pokemon to hunt. Next time you portray Suicune I'd ask for it to be like it is in the artwork. =3

I've been busy as of late. Work has been calling me in for over time, i've had coursework and exams due in plus a few personal matters. I don't generally have time to sit down and draw something. It's usually just sitting down and whatever is drawn is drawn.
