It's 9:45 in the evening, so I'm still in time for the quota! Technically I already met it a few days early with my last work, but I was secretly hoping to get ahead with two WIP's so I could move on to other projects.This one, I'm not as satisfied with it as I'd like to be, but then part of the whole point was to experiment with mood coloring and textures. Plus, it's been too long since I've brought these two together again, and seeing all the Celestiacord/Dislestia artworks still coming out to this day got me plenty inspired.
I just can't help but love this pairing.

Jeez, that was the most laborous part, I think. So much copypasta for all those feathers. I think they're dragon wings, though I used a bat for reference... then again, isn't that always the case with dragon design? X3
And yep, the background was a lot of fun. I was considering releasing just the background image in my gallery too, since I did work a lot on that part too and am a bit proud of it, but I think overall it might be too bland.
Yeah, I think I will. ^^ Though is it weird for me to say that the majority of music I love listening to tend to be movie and video game tracks? I don't actually follow most bands or groups or whatever.

Feathery wings being the most tedious? Yeahh. Dragon/bat wings /are/ pretty much the same after all.
Looks like it! Those are some floofy lookin' clouds and yeah, the background alone isn't alive enough to be by itself.
I can see your reasoning behind that, there's some soundtracks that I love. Lord of the Rings, Diablo 2 and 3, Halo games and those are just off the top of my head but I of course like to listen to different artists but I listen to just as much Brony made music if not more than non-pony tunes.

Yep, cause wings have so many feathers, and many different types of feathers. Then again I'm probably just making it more difficult that it could be, but that's where practice and experimentation comes in I suppose. ^^
Indeed, though I still hate these clouds so much. >.< For pics like this, environment details are one of those thing that if you focus too much on you've both wasted good time, since the focus is supposed to be on the foreground elements, and potentially lessened the quality of the overall piece, since if the environment is too busy it can be distracting.
There's something about that kind of music that I love - I think it's the fact that soundtracks, because they're supposed to fit specific scenes and circumstances, are usually designed to fit a certain emotion or series of emotions. That really works for me. C:
