Watercolors on Arches 14β X 20β 140lbs CP paper.Based on photo by Ghana-American friend of my son. Colors are more vivid in real life, bicycle wheel looks a bit washed out here. If I adjust colors, man's face will be too dark
Any comments and critique are well appreciated, as always!

There was once a movie by the same name.... this I feel was painted well Millie .... so realistic! you are improving so much

I just vaguely remember that movie, starring Gary Cooper, having that title. My painting might not tell the same story as the movie, but I like the title depicting scorching sun

it has done the same for me.... especially my photography..... that movie.. my dad was a fan of Gary Cooper, there is still a photo in my parents collection with him on the photo when he was in holland promoting that film

you know, if you select loosely around his face, feather a little bit, then select "inverse" (or, "invert selection" maybe it's called), then you can increase the color saturation without affecting his face.
