WOAH wait there, so your shades are actually all gray by themselves and they acquire the color of their surface?... How do you do that? When I try it the resulting blend is always grayish, I don't know if I'm not setting things correctly or what.

I believe that it's actually black with a lighter opacity. That's just what it looks like to me though.
