Description
I know that Snape is a very complicated and misunderstood character, but the thing is that for more than seven years he TORMENTED the students (except for his favorite slytherins). He humiliated multiple students, insulted them, ignored them, trashed them, and I could go on. He may have been broken hearted over the death of Lily, rejection of Lily, pain of what his life had become, and whatever else. But that was no excuse to take his pain out on so many children who didn't deserve it.

What I find cool about this quote was that it doesn't simply apply to Snape (although controversy over him is what inspired the quote for me), it can apply to so much more. It can apply to real life events, circumstances, and people. Think about it for a moment, it may even apply to you at some point in your life.
