In these times, the fallen angel was at a point where he worked for himself, lived for himself, and absolutely nobody else. It was a rarity for him to show any kind of mercy, unless it was a mercy killing, and so to see the seraph kneeling down next to the unconscious anthro without slicing his throat to put him out of his misery was indeed an unusual sight. Janus was simply cutting through the eerily quiet forest in order to reach the next city and finish his current assignment, but he seemed to find it amusing how stupid the boy could be to step into a bear trap. "Such a foolish child," he smirked. "You'll be lucky to live long with an infection like this, boy." The angel tipped the tiny male's chin up to get a clear view of his dirt and blood smeared face while his other hand went down to loosen the bear trap and toss it aside. Don't be mistaken, Janus wasn't about to leave a possible money making item there, since there was a good chance that he could've sold the boy to some slave trader in town, but the fast approaching footsteps of another powerful demon coming from behind him told him that he wouldn't have time to pack the child up and take him with him. "Tsk... Pray that the next demon to pass by doesn't eat you alive, and if you do happen to live, don't expect anymore favors from me if we meet again." And as quickly as he came, the angel vanished once again into the trees while two other demons entered the small clearing a few minutes later.

The shorter of the two, a silver-headed incubus, was first to enter the open space and was first to run over to the unconscious child and kneel on the forest floor with nothing but concern for the boy's well-being in his eyes while inspecting the wound. The larger, and more powerful of the two picked up the bags that the other had dropped upon seeing the injured anthro and joined him at the white haired child's side. "Poor kid... Looks like he's been outside for a while if this infection is anything to go by." Cain knew quite a bit about the human body, but Sino was the one who acted as the doctor for the two of them, and occasionally during unfortunate meetings such as these. The quieter of the two was already pulling out some antiseptic, alcohol, and some bandages for the boy while Cain worked on flushing out the wound with one of the bottles of water they had with them. Using a piece of fabric he had torn from his sleeve, the incubus first cleaned the site of the infection before moving on to scrub the dirt off the rest of the leg. "Is there any chance that we could bring him to a hospital?" he asked, frowning a bit since he had a feeling that he already knew the answer.
The elder demon let out a deep sigh as he went to work on disinfecting the wound and wrapping the clean bandages around the limb. "Cain, you know why we can't bring the boy with us."

He knew it, and his head hung a bit lower at the conformation. "Yes, I know... I just... I just don't feel comfortable with leaving such a young child alone in the forest."

"Neither do I, but you and I both know that it would be exponentially more dangerous for the boy to come with us, that is at least not until we settle down somewhere. For now, this is the best we can do for the child." Not to mention several fairly powerful demons were possibly tailing them and they didn't want to bring an innocent child into that danger.

"Yes, I know, I know..." As usual, his lover was right, but at least they were able to help in some way. Noticing how cracked and dry the boy's lips were from dehydration, Cain took the still half-full bottle of water and carefully tipped the rest of the liquid down the anthro's throat before putting the empty bottle away. Sino had already finished putting the medical supplies away and was already setting the small burlap bag of food at the anthro's side, so all Cain had to do now was leave a fresh bottle of water next to it for when the child woke up. With a soft smile, Cain lightly patted the boy on the head and picked up his bags while Sino did the same. "Wake up and live well alright, kid? Maybe we'll meet each other again in the future." The incubus smiled and gave the anthro one last glance over his shoulder before trotting to catch up with the only other man he'd follow to the very ends of the earth.
