Lee is a rather curious character, so I imagine he'd ask Tenten to teach him about her techniques, and how her scrolls work.
Not only does he ask because he's curious, but also because it makes her happy. Tenten loves it when people asks her about her life, or anything related to her, because it makes her feel appreciated.

This is a drawing of older Lee and Tenten //around the time of "The Last" (in their "you can do it" outfits) doing exacly that.
