riolu is a rebel that dont follow the rules of the fence .3. he goes where he wants, when he wants C:i actually originally had him jumping over the rubble of a city being consumed by lava and fire, but it didnt look too good >.> so i went back to what i love most: RAAAAAIN!

keep contrast a bit higher, know your light sources, and dont just limit yourself to some hyper realistic shading thing or whatever. sometimes, adding in some shading and lighting that woudl otherwise be a bit bullshit is fine, as long as it looks good
also, if you are using photoshop, mess around with a colour balance modifier layer (for example, crank up the blue levels for the shading part, and yellow for the highlight part)
