It's nice idea and composition, but try to avoid using the on-camera flash. Any direct lighting coming from directly cameras direction usually just causes nasty harsh lighting.
[link] Here's few basic portrait lighting setups. You can try to create these with normal houselights that you can move. Also construction site halogens are cheap and quite effective (though rather warm) solution.
