I love Batman, and Tim Sales masterful depictions of the Dark Knight taught me that Batman truly is a frightening beast. I wanted to focus on his silhouette. Focus on the bat more than the man.How does Batman appear to a bad guy on a cold dark night? Like a monster.

I love this piece. It's fantastic. It conveys the essence of fear, and the evocation of the demonic that the costume carries. The roughness of the picture gives you the impression that this is more of how you would see him after the fact, in your mind's eye. The fact mixed in with emotion, and inflated to represent all your worst nightmares. Magnificent.
