Description Umm... done while procrastinating. Might scrap later

Not an original character. Afrasiyab is an evil sorcerer emperor whom originally appears in the Persian epic Shahnameh (in a less powerful role) and later in the Urdu Dastaan, Tilism-e-Hoshruba. The meaning of his name is supposed to be 'Beyond the black river' how awesome is that!

I've only read random scraps of both. I'm not sure about the length of the Shahnameh but the latter is thousands of pages long and has difficult Urdu . There's a translation in the works but I wanna read the original!!

The Shahnameh has comics now, I'll try to get my hands on those.

I hope to be able to draw some Tilism e Hoshruba comics someday, a crazy dream of mine...

I haven't read that one. Mind if I borrow it after you're done with it? I think it's translated by the same guy who's translating Tilism -e- Hoshruba. From what I've read of the latter it's I think it's similar to the Hamzanama (sort of like a sequel to it?) but with way more magic weilders.

So how's your Afghanistan inspired epic going? Post more sketches and concepts dude!!! Thesis sar pe sawaar hai! Haha... dundundun!!

Im still near the middle of the book! It gets a little annoying, but its a worth the read because its got a lot of persian words and ideas that might just make it to me comic! No, i still have a year left! im trying to read as much before i re-read my script and wite the complete story.i just might use this in the thesis!!! I still owe u ur cds!!!hehehe...

Ah, I'm glad this turned out okay, I usually have trouble with facial hair as well. Especially if it's a beard. Depending on how I mess up it can look like either

a) Jesus
b) A mad mullah
c) A bearded woman
d) All of the above

True true!! When mad bearded jesus woman's face manifests in my sketchbook I either erase it or doodle over it. So horrifying it is! But somehow s/he never truly disappears, no matter how much I scribble or erase D:. Know what I mean? (or maybe it's just the sucky paper?)

I feel sorry for the empty pages in the sketchbook, they have not achieved their life's purpose . For some reason most of the sketchbooks I own have sucky paper... but they must be filled!

have you ever played prince of persia? the newest one strongly referrs to the persian mythology!
there are two gods, ormazd and arihman, brother, who fight each other....i think this thing, religion or whatever is calles zoroastrism...
