Description A quick painting that I did when I was supposed to be doing another painting. 's 'The Rain' was my photo reference, though since I was working alla prima there were some lost details and such. The photo was much better, but I still like the painting.

20x24" oil on canvasboard.

Edit: original sold

Have you worked with oils before? They're super fun. If it weren't so unportable and smelly I'd bring all my oil stuff over and we'd throw paint on canvas all day. Alas...

No I never worked with oils before, lol, they were banned in school and my grandma gave me this one single oil paint once and it was really old and crapped up and took literally two weeks to dry so I never used it.

Oh god.... that would be amazing *sob* Maybe I should come over sometime in the summer. It would be amazing to go outside and paint your backyard or something. Seriously. I have a crapload of unused canvases, I'll just grab an oil set next time I'm at Wallack's and you can show me YOUR MAJICCCCCCC

OMG YAYAYYAYAYAYAYAY

I used to have a homemade easel but my dad threw it out when we moved once... SUCKS. I think I am probably going to get one because I want to take a painting course in the summer. But if I don't have one by then, borrowing yours would be GREAT. OMG can't wait

Painting course?? Uwaaaa! That sounds like so much fun. I always wanted to take one, but I never seemed to have the opportunity.

Yeah you can take them in the summer at Algonquin as far as I know... and there's lots of other teachers in the area that offer private stuff

Very well done!
Especially like the fact that you didn't use to many colors. Makes the piece feel more like a Rainy day then it already is!
Might have been a quick painting, but I still think there is some amazing details in it which makes it so alive.

Keep the art coming! You're a great artist!

Prussian and cobalt blue are two of my favourite oil colours. I find myself trying to use them constantly.

This was just self-indulgent.
