Description We've had as many as twenty some of these in our crab apple tree (just off of our balcony) all at once. Many stayed for a few hours, weathering a snow storm and attendant winds. While arguably not as beautiful as the European robin (because the color is less vibrant, it's still a great bird and so very, very common in the U.S. that we take them quite for granted.

I think the robins all moved too early this year we had them here in N CA back in January!  Love this puffball

Thank you Ruth. We have them year round here (they're not uncommon by any means) but I'd never seen them in such profusion as I have here recently.
