Description “Yes, my brother, I am here.” Thonru was leading them back through making sure not to take any alleyways that might bring them closer to the gang.
“I think I miss living in Dalatford.” Jaston was almost delusional and he thought they were okay.
“Me too, me too . . . ” Thonru was shaking his head as he remembered Dalatford and Jeysica . . .
“Do you remember the wells by the walls?” Jaston asked starting to take his own weight.
“Yes, of course where we used ta act like we fought the King after we’d a get in trouble with mama.” Thonru smiled sadly remembering.
“Yes, and where Jeysica would always bring us pastries . . .  I wish I had one right now.” Thonru stopped Jaston from talking so they could sit on a well’s edge and drink. He ripped a strip off his pant leg and dipped it in the water wiping the cuts and bruises on Jaston’s head.
“Yes, brother, one of those pastries does sound good right now.” Thonru replied a minute later as they were getting up from the well. They had only begun walking a couple minutes ago when Jaston grunted than looked up.
“Thonru, I think we are home . . . ” Jaston weakly snapped his fingers as he saw the garden their mother planted them. Thonru set his brother down and cat called for Hannah. She takes care of the horses they own, but secretly she was hired by Thonru to be a healer . . .  she was Touched. Meaning she was touched by the God above to help others. She wouldn’t accept pay from Thonru because he helped her out of an abusive situation under a drunkard.
“What are you boys do- oh goodness me!” Hannah, the young blonde of sixteen summers, exclaimed above a whisper. She had come closer to see a shirtless Thonru and blood under his eye and nose and the literal beat up expression on Jaston’s face. She touched Jaston’s face and whiteness shimmered around his cuts and bruises. She set his leg then laid her hand on it and whiteness shimmered around the crookedness of his shadowed leg. Jaston grunted and tried shifting but Thonru and Hannah held him down so his leg would heal quicker. Jaston grimaced and bit his lip. Thonru shook his head knowing how much it must hurt going through this a second time . . .  different leg, same thing.  After five minutes of pain a look of short relief took over on Jaston’s face. Hannah turned to him over and saw his side, knowing this is where Thonru’s shirt had gone. She shook her head and pressed both hands on Jaston’s side whispering. It took much longer to heal his side than his leg and Thonru couldn’t guess why. Hannah turned to Thonru looking extremely tired.
“Wait . . .  Jaston are you feeling good now?” Thonru looked at his older brother rubbing his leg.
