Description Just not-so-old drawing but I decide to post it now
I experienced dancing Cirebonese Mask Dance (Tari Topeng Cirebon) when I was in high school, my only biggest regret is not able to meet the maestro, Mimi Rasinah who had danced Tari Topeng around the world, but I unable met her because she left this world a month before I went to Cirebon. I was taught by Mbak Aerli, the granddaughter of Mimi Rasinah, just one day, but very precious.

She is amazing dancer, She is charming old woman, but when she dance she look so young to me, maybe this art is what I see from Mimi Rasinah every time I see her dancing.

I don't even know who's Mimi Rasinah until a friend of mine from Palembang told me to my Cirebon roleplay account. :'3
You're a lucky guy, alright.

And the art is so cute! Can I use it for my account? I'll put your name as credit, of course.
You can check this 'Sani Arya Pratama' account if you ever want to check whether there's your name or not.

Salam sing wong Cirebon, mengky335!

Yes, there are 5 masks in Cirebon Mask Dance, other region like Bali and Jawa might have similar mask with different name but I'll tell you the Cirebon one.
Klana/Kelana/Rahwana: the most common mask of Cirebon Mask Dance, because this one is easy to be danced by anyone, simply because everyone have devil side of themselves, yes Klana represent evil trait and any bad personality.
Panji: unlike Klana, Panji is the hardest Mask Dance because you need to pure your heart by fasting and praying several weeks before you dance. Panji represent purity, and also represent stage of life: baby.
Samba/Pamindo: represent cheerfulness, kids personality
Rumyang: represent flirty, youth, teenager
Tumenggung/Patih: represent maturity, adult, this mask also used for mask dance with story about Prabu Siliwangi's Governor
Klana is the only one that not represent any stage of life, it is purely represent evil personality.
Each of them also have Islamic philosophical meaning because this dances were originally create to promote Islam in Hindu-Buddha era in Indonesia. I don't remember well but I'll help you to find good link about Cirebonese Mask Dance if you are really interested

It's pretty interesting how closely related dancing and martial arts can get.

Haha no, there is nothing martial art thing included in this dance XD

Tari Topeng has 5 different masks with different trait, and this one is Klana, Klana represent evil, usually described as ferocious, prideful, and masculine character in the dance, maybe you mistaken with martial art movement by its masculine pose.

If you interested with my local martial arts, you can check Pencak Silat, and we have movie called The Raid. Some said that Pencak Silat movement seem like dancing, maybe, I experienced a bit with pencak silat and I don't know which part is the 'dancing-like' movement.

Actually the idea came to me after seeing how certain western styleΒ dance
moves bear striking resemblance to techniques seen in martial arts.

Also I have learned about Pencak Silat when I came across an art series
entitled "My Little AssKicker".

No i didn't learnΒ Pencak Silat, I learned about Pencak Silat.

My Little Asskicker is a series of illustrations which pairs the most appropriate
Β fighting style to each major character of the show "My Little Pony: Friendship
Is Magic". Twilight was paired with Pencak Silat because some forms the fighting
style use mantras or spells.

Keren bgt Ghina, this is very good.
The color is amazing and very Indonesia-style traditional
I especially like how you color the ornaments brought to the back with shades of blue.
